I recently had the opportunity to visit the BMW museum in Munich. The museum located next to the Olympic Park, is one of the main attractions of Munich. The BMW museum is just next to the BMW headquarters which occupy the impressive tower you can see below. Across the street, connected by a bridge, you can find BMW Welt, another impressive building. The BMW museum, as well as BMW Welt, are great places to visit if you are around Munich, especially for car enthusiasts.
The museum is centered in the history of BMW, many previous car and motorcycle models through the history of the brand. Some of the models like the BMW Isetta 250 are quite peculiar. Is amazing to see how well the classic cars have been preserved. Most of the older models, truly look beautiful. The museum is quite extensive, there is also an area where they focus on the future of transportation, showing some of the early concepts of the BMWi family.
General admission to the museum is 9€.
BMW Welt is the showroom where the BMW group (this includes BMW, BMW Motorrad, Mini and Rolls-Royce) displays some of their latest models. When I visited, they also had the BMW Z4 concept on display. One of the main cars that were showing was the new BMW 8 series coupe. Welt is also where some customers chose to pick up their new cars.
There is also a cafe and a gift shop in the building. The entrance to BMW Welt is free.
